depends on species, its full size, and its current size.
i've had gibbys get from 2" to 8" in just a few months
had a GN thats only grown from 2" to 3" in a year.
the list could go on, and all are different. what species do you have? how big is it currently?
You do realize there are over 600 species of loricariidae. Some that stay as small as 1", and some that get as big as 36". I've had commons go from 2"-12" within a year. I've had a L200 go from 2"-3" in 2 years.
Hmmm.
I don't think any of my plecs have been slow growers.
from may til now, my L204 and L002 doubled in size,
from August til now, my L083 went from 1.25 inches to 6.
And in the last month, my LFABN fry have doubled in size.
Yeah, I know my grammer is sucky.
My commons hit a foot and now, MAYBE, they have stopped growing longer and are just getting obese.
Oh, my L134's seem to be the slowest growers. I think I am getting a little less than an inch every 6 months or so...at this rate, they won't be breeding size until my retirement.
yea it really does depend on species. also, it would depend on what "common" pleco species you have, but most of them get over a foot, a lot are closer to the 2ft mark. growth rates slow as they get older, like they do with many species of animals
Went fishing in a nearby river and caught 3 plecos around 4" each. Dumped them in the mall's pond when no one was looking. Now, 3 years later they're nearly 2 feet.
