I have a leopard sailfin whose tummy is bulging out and very round. I'm pretty sure it's not a parasite or anything as it is eating well. So should I be worried about plecos overeating?

Depends on what you're feeding them. A herbivore plec getting "big in the pants" from a variety of veggies is fine. But if that same herbivore is getting chunky from shrimp & bloodworms-not so good.

Feed plecos every other day. No need to feed every day, due to the huge amounts of waste they produce. It's better for their health as well as your filtration and water parameters.

its actually very dangerous to feed pleco everyday...

Plecos are kinda like gold fish.. if you give them veggies every day.. they will eat.. and continue to eat..

The key is to feed once or twice every 3-4 days.. In between those days.. try feeding small amount.. algae walfer.. sinking pellets.. etc..

Yes feed espicially your herbivores maybe like 3 times a week. I have some bn in with my l-114's and they get zuchinni or cucumber only once a week and they are fine and about 3 years old.

Does anyone have royal plecos that don't eat algae wafers? Cuz mine just won't touch them...
