Plecos question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nope I have done it in the past with no issues. The pleco scales are like armor so he can take any abuse that the African cichlids will throw at him. Most of the time they just ignored each other.

Mine seem fine aside from occasional ripped fins on the pleco

Thanks for your guys info. i just dont trust the cichlids how they always nipping each other fins n all that im just scared that they might stress out the plecos.

Yes it's a bad idea. Plecos and african cichlids prefer different PH...and just because some can handle being picked on....why do it? That's like saying go to work and have your boss pick on you everyday.Sure you survived it... by why should you?

Again, yes people do it all the time and yes they may survive from day to day but there is no telling the unseen stress put on the pleco. What would be a 10-15 year old pleco may only live 8 years and appear to die for no reason

If you are talking about African's like mbunas bristle nose work very well and adapt well to high pH.
