plecos that don't eat plants or driftwood

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Otocinclus would work harder than bristlenose. Also plecos will not consume most algae. Plecos will NOT consume hair algae, cyano 'algae', black beard algae, white fuzzy 'algae', they WILL consume certain green and brown algaes. Thats it. Lol.

^ with so many plecos out there i wouldnt say that, since some are way more hard working than ottos...

Plus, ottos also dont touch hair alage, black beard algae etc either... So regardless if the OP adds a pleco or otto, you'd still need to find ways to combat that algae...

My bristlenose plecos live off my driftwood literally 4 years now and I rarely feed them anything else and my male albino is 6.5" and that's measured with him against the glass. And my longfin male bristlenose/bushynose is about 5.5". They both keep my driftwood very clean!

thanks for the suggestions, ive been doing some research on these guys and they sound pretty aggressive will they be fine with angles, corys, rainbows, fire eel, ect

This might not be what you are looking for but..... You can go along the routes of a Farlowella Catfish or a Whiptail catfish... Don't eat live plants or driftwood. get a nice size and look awesome. Might be an idea for you!
