I have a 9" and a 4" pleco and either of them eat. The smaller one eats on occasion but the large one I NEVER see eat. I tried the slightly microwaved zucchini and it was not touched by the next day. I have algae discs that I drop in, but I am not 100% sure they are the ones who are eating it. any suggestions? thanks

How long have you had them?

If he made it to 9" he must be eating something. Check how their belly looks, if it's nice and round they are getting enough to eat. Most likely they are eating at night, try feeding in the evening and turning off the tank lights. Just leave some low level room lights on and see if they come out then.

It might take a few trys for them to figure out fresh veges are food, try leaving chunks in overnight with no wafers that day. If they are a bit hungry they are more likely to try alternative foods. ;)

cool. I will give that a shot. yeah I just got him, the large one.. so I just want to make sure he eats.. cannot say that he is fat.. but he looks ok.. just seems like he is always searching for food.. when the smaller one hardly moves.. the wafers get eaten, I think.. usually they are gone in the morning.. its just that I have heard that the zucchini is such a treat for them.. I was hoping I would have 2 fat stuffed plecos
