PLECOS?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There are a myriad of supposed morphological differences between the sexes, but the most common method seems to be comparing the size of fish as well as the size of their barbels. (Males are usually smaller but have larger barbels than females.)

depends what kind of pleco u had in mind? theres a variety of ways to sex alot of different plecos they arent as easy as say sexing livebearers, where as a whole there only one way.

HOW DO YOU SEX PLECOS AND UNDER WHAT CONDITIONS DO THEY BREED

I am still reading material on the sexing of Plecostomas....What I do know:L

1--->is that a lot of driftwood is needed....
2--->Long tanks are more suitable.....
3--->Have a strong powerhead going from one end....
4--->Vary the diet..........

Give a species or L-number and you will get more specific responses.

I wouldn't say a lot of driftwood is needed. I have bred plecos before with no driftwood in the tank and had many sucessful spawns. But I have bred them with it as well.

Long tanks work better generally as import said. As well as powerheads.
