Good question! I'm not sure. The piranhas would at least need to be very well fed, otherwise nipping the fins is more likely, leading to eating it.

I currently have 2 rbp's in with a pleco. They have grown up together and ive had no problems. They dont seem to bother with it to much and they've been together for about 7 months the piranahs are about 6 inches and the pleco is about 8-9 inches. Its all about luck. Ive never had luck with exodons with my piranahs...always seem to become lunch but others seems to work out.

There are a lot of threads on plecos and piranhas, and a thread about piranhas and tankmates in general. Theres a search function on the site that you can you use. However to give you a general conclusion... there are a few rare occasions that people have, but 99% it doesn't work at all.

i have had 1 pleco in with my 4 RBP for the past year with out any problems. i also added anouther one that is about 10" in there with them. i just make sure that the Pleco has a hiding place. i put 10" clay pots broken in 1/2 in my tank and they just go under them during the day.. no problems what so ever. but i also think my piranha are wussies....

I've had a 0% success rate with them :(. But the largest one I've put in was only 12-13" so if I can find like a 2 footer maybe it'll work.
