Pleeeese someone ID what this is????

Ok my channa micropeltis developed what looks like a rash or sheeding like a snake. Can someone identify this disease and how to treat. Thanx

Ammonia burns can cause peeling like that. How long has the tank been set up? What are your ammonia, nitrite & nitrate readings? Tank size?

Tank has been setup for a year and a half,nitrites 0, ammonia 0, nitrates 60-80, Ph 6.2. I was thinking maybe my water is a bit acidic but it shouldnt affect him that bad should it? Introduced a hoplias malabacius (common wolf) but he keeps to him self. This just started 2 days ago

If he's lived in that same water all this time it shouldn't bother him now all of a sudden. Nitrates are a bit high but that seems the only thing out of line. One thing that won't hurt and might help is 30% daily water changes over the next 3-4 days. I'd do that before I'd start throwing meds in.

He's a beautiful fish. I never paid much attention when people talked about SH's. But after seeing yours I understand whey they like them.

Thanx i appreciate your compliments. Ive had him since he was 6 inches long now hes 18 and im in a hurry to setup my 265 gallon so i can get him out of this 150 before he gets so big he cant turn around. lol lol
