The fish store sold him as a clown pleco it is currently 1.5-2"
And I was told the following
1 he should get between 3-5"
2 he is a good algae eater (yes I feed him other food also)
3 he is unlikely to suck slime coats and is relatively fish safe

I need to know if any of this is bull and a proper ID also does he need wood I know some do:confused: and I want to make sure I am caring for him proper.
I like plecos but haven't got room for a common that gets 2 feet long and will suck my other fish:(

L104, Mine isn't exactly a lawn mower, but does keep his cave and the real estate close by very clean. The size they told you is accurate, yes wood, and porbally won't bother other fish as long as it is feed....

Okay, I will be sure to add some wood to his tank. He will be getting a variety of foods including blood worms, brine shrimp, bottom feeder wafers, tropical fish flakes and all they algae he wants if he he wants it.
He is living with some very spoiled guppies, a molly, a female betta and a pair of baby pollys who will be moved in the near future so at the moment krill and beefheart are also available on occasion.
Ant other suggestions? and thank you for the info :)

okay so I will give him veggies how often do I need to replace them or how long can they be left in the tank. I have given him some potato which I have seen him eat and there are live plants in the tank . Which veggies are okay to feed fish or more important which are NOT okay for my pleco?
thanks again for the info:)
