Well i was thinking about making a plexi hood, but i dont' want it to bend, so then i thought, what about reinforcing it? could i but a metal strip going both ways to form a + and glue it to the plexi? wouldn't that prevent it from bending?

:grinno: Make them the same on both sides and periodically flip them.

Or make them out of glass. I like my glass lids better. Cutting glass seems fearful at first, but when you get the hang of it you will wish you did glass on all of your tanks.

Btw, thick glass cuts easier than thin glass.

yea but if you mess up cutting glass it goes into a lot of pieces

That's called gaining experience. You can't expect to jump on a bike for the very first time and ride it like a pro. You have to go through the learning process. You can't expect to cut glass like a pro the very first time either. There are going to be mistakes. You sweep up the pieces and start again.

If you tell yourself that you can't, you are already defeated.

Glass would be the sturdier way to go, But ive had some success with 1/4" plexi that I re-enforced with 1/2" square plexi rod. Thin plexi will always warp.
