Doubt it..... My 10x3 is 1" material.
I'm no expert in building them, but I know enough NOT to try to build them myself. I'd definitely get with a professional.

3/8" is thick enough strength wise, but you don't want to use it. Tenecor makes a 6'x2'x2' with 3/8" acrylic, I have one that they made, but it bows at least an inch. It will not break if welded correctly, but when you look at the cost difference between 3/8" and 1/2" it isn't worth the chance.
