Anyone ever kept these? I know they are saltwater, but the lfs has some in and I'm intrigued. Kinda makes me wish I had a saltwater up and running right now. I already know their size, and lifespan, but just wondering other's opinions on how well they do in aquaria. :headbang2

They're a doddle to keep - very hardy, eat anything and grow relatively steadily - the pretty pattern changes as they grow.

I'd go so far as to say that you could put them into a freshly set up marine system and they'd do fine as long as you went through the usual new tank precautions.

As for housing with other fish - they're okay but will eat small tank mates - they're fine kept in groups or on their own.

Sounds like you've had some good expirience with them. How fast would you say the growth is? 1" per month? more? less? Thanks for the great reply.

when they are tiny they grow really fast - at least 1" per month - they slow down a bit at about 6" though - mind you I'm certain that you could sustain the growth rate.

I like them - have had quite a few over the years
