We've got a Red Bay Snook that had a pimple on his cheek (right cheek) it started small looking like a white head and this went away. However, it recently came back but rather than going away its now turned into a massive lump. It doesn't seem to make him sick, he's not acting any differently, but we just want to medicate it in case it's contagious, does anyone know what it is?

Looks like it might be an abscess. If so, it might need to e drained and disinfected.

I agree it looks like an abscess. You could try epsom salt 1 teaspoon per 5 gallons of water to see if it draws it out or Kanamycin if doesn't get better. Cutting would be the last resort. sometimes they resolve themselves.

If you have to cut use a sterile razor blade make a small incision squeeze the puss out and put some Triple antibiotic ointment over the incision. Keep the fish in very clean salted water for about a week during healing.

I'm curious, why do you think that? Have you seen this before? I haven't seen a flagellate present this way. What species is it?

It might resolve on its own, if the fish and water is in good shape. If it gets bigger or changes color you are probably going to have to do something about it. I would go ahead and try what Aquarneo recommended now. If it comes down to draining it I prefer to use a the needle from a syringe rather than cut it. But sometimes it has to be cut, depends on how solid the mass is.
