just got him from a friend who said he wasnt
getting any food when fed.
Tankmates getting it all
so I picked him/her up

I think its a male, but not sure

still a little young to tell ..if its getting spotting on the body and fins it would be male but the pic isnt clear enough to see any spotting ....my guess would be female...

Looks like a female. Still a bit small. Give it some time. A lil TLC and you will have a big fish.

Yeah pic looks female but I think I see lil spotting on anal fin. Maybe post another pic. Some females will Also obtain nice coloring on face.

Here is a pic of my pair for reference. Some females when young can have slight freckling but not as intense as the males. They also have the nice colors on their fins to. My female has a nice green tinge to her face and blue sheen on her fins. This shot is a bad shot of her.
