Hey guys, I found a 300 gal reef ready reef tank for only $750. The only problem is it has 15 holes in the back. I want to be able to use it to keep some pretty big catfish and a FRT. How much do you think it will cost to plug up the holes and how do I do it?
Thank you guys ahead of time!

are the bulk heads have threads at the end of them? if so i would use caps to cover it.

but i agree with will, just plumb it to a sump. it be alot of work to plug it up with acrylic. and it probally wont look nice

We have a sump and a 450 fluv can filter.. but how would we do it with 15 holes in the back? I'm just worried about the pressure if I plugged them up, it would be a nightmare to have 300 gal on the floor!

Please post a photo of the back of your tank, and all the equipment that you received with it.

If plumbing a sump is out of your league, or does not sound like something you want to do the research for, you can likely hire someone with experience in Aquarium Setup.

It does not include filtration system or lamps for the light fixtures. It was origally set up for a custom, closed loop filtration system (which is I guess why there are holes in the back)

Okay, all posts under my name were entered by my wife at my request via cell phone while I was looking at the tank. I went ahead and bought the "Clarity Plus" acrylic 300 gallon monster tank for only $700!!! Now I need to close the holes. I think I am going to go with shut off valves. I would like to eventually set it up like it was meant to be, I mean it is a gorgeous reef tank. It was a display model for a fish store before the electrician got it for a killer deal, then he never set it up. That guy ended up owing his roommate a ton of money and when he moved out, got permission from his roommate to sell it. His loss, my gain. I did damage the hood during the move. It was so way past my bedtime, and I forgot to secure the doors, so one snapped off during transit. The lid has like 4 Heliax(?) lighting fixtures, accent lighting, and florescent. Will post pics eventually. Thanks for everyone's input.
