Hey i was looking at a 220 gallon that was used as a reef tank, so it has overflows in the middle of the tank as well. How does that work? Can i plug them up in any way?

Just put some threaded PVC caps in the bulkheads. Don't make anything permanent. Make sure you can use this overflows one day if you wish.
