any wood experts here?

my m-in-law has a plum tree in her backyard and last year we pruned a good sized branch off that's been sitting there drying out.

any thoughts on whether it'd be ok to use this wood in my tanks? plum wood is quite hard. it was difficult to cut.

No idea, but you can do the bucket test. Stick a piece in a bucket of water and check all the parameters over a couple of weeks. Of course this does not tell you if it leaches any poisons into the water.
