Here is the master plan!

First this is my current setup that will be going away. I am fed up with the CPR overflow box. It is a very nice piece i just cant stand the noise, bulky look, and headache to keep is running.

I am having 3 holes for 1" bulkheads on the end of the tank. The plumbing will go straight down and through the end of the stand through 3 holes.

The plumbing will go as pictured with a ball valve and 2 spots to unscrew it for maintenance or moving. Also the return will have a reverse flow check valve that will be placed below the ball valve and can be removed by itself for cleaning or maintenance.

One of the two drains

The end of the stand were it will be drilled

Inside of the stand were my sump is.

The drains will drain into my sump tank were I have room for sponge filters and some bio media

Then a second bulkhead is going to be installed next to this one to drain the water into my Wet/dry filter

The return will come out of the last chamber of the wet/dry and run straight back across the top of the filter and out of the stand in the middle of the 2 drains and back up to the tank.

Tell me what you think? Good or bad. i think this is going to be way better than my original setup that i have now and it will look really slick.

By the way i am not a fan of flex hose drains or returns. I think that PVC looks better and is much safer. The only flex hose will be a short 5 inch or so pice from my pump up to the PVC return line.

Plan sounds good so far. We'll be waiting for updates.

Thanks and yes updates as well as full moving pictures will be taken from start to finish. (on my new DSLR to!!!:headbang2, sorry for eh bad pix)

Yes 1" will be fine with 2 1" drains and 1 3/4" return the sump will have plenty of flow.

I had an overflow box with a siphon. What a pain that was. I took it off and sold it. Replaced it with another canister. One of My 180 has a overflow built in, What a beautiful easy thing.
