Plumbing FX5 And Current USA Gamme 40w UV

I need to plumb my UV sterilzer inline with one of my FX5's.

I assume that Hagen's ribbed tubing cannot be hose clamped to a 1" nipple?

I would need to replace the output hose of the FX5 with some other tubing correct?

I would hate to have to use clear hosing, but this needs to be done within a few days, so no time to order anything fancy! Any exp. or advise would be appreciated.

what is wrong with clear tubing? i think it would be cool to see the water pushing through the tubes, unless you have had bad experiences. just go to you local hardware store and bring the uv sterilizer with you if you have to.

I'd rather have tubing that did not allow light to penetrate. Prevents stuff from growing on the walls of the tubing.


I understand how to get it plumbed, mostly was just verifying that the existing tubing is not appropriate. Hagen uses ribbed tubing and was uncertain whether I could clamp this to a nipple.
