So I'm a total 'tard when it comes to DIY stuff. I pulled an old tank out of storage and it doesn't have any of the plumbing.
Its an AGA 155g dual overflow that will be going into a dual input sump. No biggie- I got that part with some flexible PVC (I think) that came with the sump.

The dual overflows have dual returns, which will be fed from a single Mag Drive 1200. This is where I get confused. I don't know what to get, nor what size of what to get, to take the output from my magdrive and input into the dual overflows. Anyone familiar that could give me what to buy and sizes? Like pictures and stuff? I'm a ditz about making anything mechanical work.

Oh, the sump will be under the cabinet and centered and the overflows come out of the bottom corners of the tank. The outputs have little hangy things? Barbs from what I can see on the pictures online? Like for tubing and stuff.

Anyone help a poor girl out?

Thanks a bunch guys.

I can tell you my Magdrive 950 on the specs sheet says to use minimum 1.5" inside diameter piping. That's what I did and it's working fine for me. My 950 has a 3/4" threaded hookup. I bought a 3/4" to 1.5" abs fitting and hard plumbed my pump in.

You can connect a T after the pump output then to your tanks returns. If each return is 3/4" or 1" then that is 1.5" or 2" and enough return for the magdrive.

Oh yea my sheet also shows your pump on it. it's a all pumps one sheet. so minimum 1.5" is recommended by Danner.

Here's a pipe flow chart.....

pipe
size _GPM __GPH

1/2 = 2.50 = 150
3/4 = 5.63 = 337.5
1.0 = 10.0 = 600
1.25=15.6 = 937.5
1.5 = 22.5 = 1350
2.0 = 40.0 = 2400

So what size are the overflow outputs?

pipe dont add up by nominal size.

its the area of the pipe that you are concerned with

1/2 pipe is pi*1/16 in area
3/4 pipe is pi*9/64
1 pipe is pi*1/4
1.5 pipe is pi*9/16
2 pipe is pi*1

so two 1 inch pipes 1/4 + 1/4 = 8/16 or a liitle less than one 1.5 pipe
