My crib
I just got my new wet/dry and this one is plumbed at the side with a spray bar instead of the top like my old one. My question is, my cabinet opening is only 25.5" wide and being that the wet dry is 24" I will need to be able to disconnect the 1.5" pipes at the buklheads easily instead of gluing them so I can remove the filter if need be. Do you know of any quick release fittings that will allow me to do this?

I suppose I could not glue them but that sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen.

Thanks

The only quick fitting I know of is a union connector, but that would have to be glued to pvc that still has to go into your bulk head, be it threaded or slip. I suppose if you could get a threaded connector to go to your bulkhead you could use pvc to connect that to a union, then you could disconnect it at both ends if you need to remove your line, or your bulk head

I believe this is a trick question.... IF there's a stand it fits under, your wet/dry is too small.

Seriously, I'd stick threaded elbows on the bulkheads and do unions vertically, OR do 2 elbows and do the unions above the wet dry.......

BUT pics would help a ton in this, I have no clue if you even have room above.

You can buy bulkheads, pvc tubes with threaded ends, and unions that are threaded, this would make it so you can take it apart. I have a set up like this on one of my tanks.

I used the threaded disconnects. the grey ones at lowes but needed much larger ones to have a 3/4" opening.
IO think I had to use 1 1/4 and had to neck down. I also put some ball valves at the return and output at the bulkeads.
that way I can do water changes and service stuff much easier.

Ah yes, went to good ole Home Depot and got some threaded elbows and unions which solved the issue.

Thanks fellas.
