Working on a little project and ive hit a hiccup of having npsm threads. I know its plausible to thread on an npt but lack a water tight seal. Has anyone tried this and just running some silicone over the threads first? If so how did you fair in the end?

Is it PVC or metal? Either way, I've had success with plumbers tape. What are you connecting to.

Just screw em together, they won't leak.

Its pvc, Instead of doing a drip I opted to set up solenoids to put more water in at one time. The result is the drain couldnt handle the flow that I would ideally like, after tinkering everything's been fine but just for piece of mind im going to hook up an extra solenoid to the exhaust on one of my nuclear filters (this is where npt vs nps comes into play) and just hook that up to a float switch so I can up the flow a bit and have that work as a second draining method. I'm 99% sure this will work fine, especially with tape or a dab of silicone but hearing that someone else has done it first is just that much extra piece of mind considering if it failed the whole tank could drain.
