Would it be possible to use two pieces of glass on the front viewing panel on a plywood aquarium one on top of the other so its twice as thick? I found a really good deal on a seven foot piece of glass little less than.25 thick if i cut it in half and put the pieces together it would be perfect. Work or not?

Your glass window is only as strong as your THICKEST piece of glass. I had some huge bullet proof sheets of glass that were a bunch of layers of thinner glass glued together. I did alot of research and found out when your talking about constant psi (water psi) your glass will only be as strong as your thickest piece. In your case being 1/4 inch. You could make a short 7tf tank out of it but that just depends how far your willing to push it or trust such thin glass
