Plywood Aquarium Glass Thickness

Hi everyone, I know this question has been asked so many times, however i feel that i need to ask the question myself. Im planning to build a plywood tank however i am unsure on the glass thickness. The tank will have the dimensions: 6x3x3, but the water level will be about 6 inches of the top and ill leave around 6 inches on either side to install the glass. what glass thickness would you guys recommend?

1/2 - 1” thickness is good for 55 gallons up to 110 gallons. Any more than that I can’t really help you with

I think it’s around 400 gallons. I’ve seem people use 15mm glass on tanks this size so would that be ok?

Thickness is not related to gallons but length and height. Correctly, the dimensions dictate gallons. I would go with 15mm (5/8”) or 19mm (3/4”).

I agree on minimum 15mm. A friend of mine has a 10000L plywoodtank with the glass being 300x120cm and using 15mm hardened glass. Im in the planning stage myself of building a huge plywood tank and planning to use two windows 200x120 15mm

Agree with the others, 15mm tempered glass will be adequate and safe.
