I know this is a vague question. As it all depends on the builder. But before I embark into a 300g aquarium. I need to know is it only a temp aquarium or does anyone have any history information on other Plywood Aquariums that have been running for some time?

The Ol' lady likes the look of some of the more cosmetic looking tanks. In my readings it looks like I would be going with Liquid Rubber or/and Pond Liner. But before the time and money is taken into building a smooth cosmetic piece of furniture quality plywood aquarium. Does anyone know or have a idea on there lifespan?

Again I know that a Idea and a Build are 2 different things and ALOT of it depends on the person building it. But im still researching before I even start the stand. A part of me was thinking about making the stand and tank all one unit. But thats a different topic. ;)

I have seen them on here that are 10 years old. I am building a 700 with a plywood bottom and glass sides. I figure if I can get 10 years out of it, I will just replace it. I am using Pond Armor on the wood. Good luck with yours.

I gotta be honest. I don't know why more people don't build these things and use the kreg jig system. I combined the stacked 2x4s with 2x4 bracing using kreg. I am going to brace the tank also but I swear I don't even need to because it is solid I'm very paranoid. And if I thought my tank was going to not hold up for 50 yrs. I would quit now
