I am building a 6' x 4' x 2' indoor pond of plywood and lumber construction. I was planning on coating the inside surface simply by painting it with a potable water container epoxy. Recently I have been seeing posts at different sites about this method of waterproofing and protecting plywood aquariums that state, in time the paint is being scratched and the plywood is being left vulnerable. Any ideas on this and if this is true, any ideas on alternative methods? I do not want to use a flexible pond liner. I want to use one edge of the pond as a riparian plant grow area and will need to attach construction to the walls and a flexible pond liner would definitely get in the way.

i would use fibreglass. cant go wrong with that

why not build the pond and then just use a layer or 2 of pond liner itll last way longer and cost a lot less

hes doing a 6x4x2 pond, you can get a 12x8 piece of liner for 65$ in canada not sure bout the states proly cheaper, to epoxy and fiberglass the whole 6x4x2 pond youll spend a fortune more than the liner
