Ok, i want to make a 6ftx 6ftx2ft plywood tank. The only problem i have is deciding wether or no the glass thickness is correct.
Its going to be a corner tank and will only have two viewing windows. The opening for the windows is going to be 44in long and 12in high . I want to know if a 1/4 in thick glass that is 48in long and 16in high glass will hold?

In case its not thick enough, will i be able put a support in the middle of the oppening so it would hold?

I'd say 1/2". I wouldnt do 48x16" in 1/4", center supported or not. That would make me a bit nervous.

Ya the trick is to always go a size thicker than you were thinking, unless money is an issue. The last thing you would want is the tank exploding everywhere...

Talk too amehel0 he is a Professional With Tank Building He Knows Exsact Thickness's of Glass that will do the Job..
Play safe Find Everything before you get in and go
Very Good Luck Mate
