I have a piece of 3/4 in 48"x36" cast acrylic. Can i build a 48" wide by 36" tall tank with this if I bolt the acrylic on?

You’d probably wanna go a bit bigger so the ply wood can overlap the acrylic window. Haven’t seen where someone just used acrylic as the whole front panel. Not saying it can’t be done.

All the ply builds i've seen have reinforcing fibreglass strips where the sheets of ply meet. On the front of your proposed build your fibreglass strips would have to be attached to ply and viewing panel!! and not the traditional ply to ply way. That seems odd to me. As above, you need to go bigger and sit that panel in a jigsawed out piece of ply where the hole in the ply is smaller than your viewing window so you have the overlap.

I already planned on a 2 1/2 inch oberlay with silicone front gadget and rubber gasget on the inside with a 2 1/2 strip flat aluminum piece bolted on all the way around. Then epoxy resin and fiberglass matting over that
