I'm going to build a 6feet by 3feet wide by 2feet high plywood tank, i would want ideas of filtration and lights. And overall just some tips and things to avoid while doing the build.

well I did saltwater so my filtration will be different. (a pair of corallife skimmers, 5gal of bioballs, and 40 gallon sump)

Pond shield was pretty easy to work with, its like very thick paint.
Since when do you have that tank and still no leaks ?

I've been working on a plywood tank myself and I decided to build an overflow bulkhead into the tank with a pump at the bottom forcing water back into the tank. All the media and pump will be contained in the overflow. Haven't finished it yet but it might be an idea for your filtration. Mine is only 130 gallon. This picture kind of shows it.

i was thinking to go only with a canister filter finally, is there advantages to a overflow system like you besides a canister?

Canisters are good too. Probably the biggest advantage to the overflow is that you get to use a ton of media in there depending on how big you build it. Also, as water evaporates the water level will never change in the tank.
