Plywood tank glass window overlap

I am in the design phase of my DIY plywood tank. It will be 84*48*36, in a corner with a viewing window on the front and one on the side. My question is how much the glass should overlap the plywood. I will be using 3/4" plywood and 2*4 frame on the inside.

For my plywood tank I believe I have a 1 1/2 inch overlap and it has held up fine

with a tank that size 2" would be a safe bet. Better to be safe then sorry.

2" is generally the rule of thumb for any tank build. I used 2.5" on my 650 build top and bottom and 4" on the sides. My 3,000 build has 4" to support the glass all the way around but that os just my personal preference. I'd rather have more adhesion and support than the mininum.

I used 2" when I built my tanks and it worked well.

Thanx all, I myself was leaning towards 2-2.5". And i plan to border it with 2x2's as a frame.
