plywood tank help

Hi all
Hope i'm in the right place here as i have a question about plywood tank building. I have part built a pw tank and wanted to know what you guys think is the minimum safe overlap between the glass and the wood frame

Friend and I built a several plywood tanks in the 48x24x20 size range and I think we went with 1.5" all the way around. That's the lowest I've used.

Personally I'd want at least two inches in a large tank. What size did you build?

Might be worth going through the sticky in the DIY Tank section and see what others have done.
 
Hi and thanks for the help.atm it's an L shape but i am thinking of changing that so it may end up as a 4x4x2 rectangle because i saw a quote on line the other day, it said "It's better to ask forgivess than get permission"

LOL, I use that phrase a lot.

Assuming you mean 2' tall, I'd say go with at least 2". If it's 4' tall then I would personally want more. I'm not basing that on anything other than a gut feeling so read through that sticky if you have the time.
