Hi MFKers. My name is Erik and i have been juggling the thought of making a Drylok on OSB (Stronger than ply, more prone to water damage though) tank with 6x2x2 dimensions. I started to buy everything to do it,but then i thought, i dont want to risk 180 gallons of water on my floor and a rotted Dryloked box,so i put the project on the back-burner until i could afford some hardiboard. Last week, i went to my cousins house to help him with his spring cleaning, and he was going to throw away a 26x24x18 OSB box which he used as a speaker box. I took it and decided it would make a perfect candidate for a drylok on ply tank! And the cost, it is minimal. Lets just say you spend more for a decent net than what i spent for my practice.
Lets Break down the costs:

26x24x18 speaker box-free
24x18 1/4 inch thick sheet of glass-$14.00
Drylok,1 gallon (i measured it,i used like 6 ounces for 3 coats,1 gal was 21.98,1 gallon is like 160 ounces,.137 cents an ounce times 6) .82 cents
1 350 gph pump- free (it was given to me from a friend who left the hobby)
200w jager heater-free (other project, bought it years ago)
total-$14.80
NOTE: this includes everything but the filter, will add those prices later

Final Coat,3rd one

It seems like im done, but i want to document my entire set up, not just the tank "build",thanks and feel free to post ( I will take more pics of third coat as soon as it dries)

If you guys would like, please recommend something to stock it with,i am clueless lol.

not bad not bad at all hope this works. stock it with some feeders, dont want you to lose some prized fish. sorry if i offend anyone who conciders feeders their prized fish.

Hmm,im thinking maybe 10 goldfish (like 2 inches) till its cycled (if this thing lasts the cycling period,it works lol) then add some exodons (-10+). Hah that would be cool

Wow,no one really cares do they?oh well. Tommorow im mounting the glass

If you have four sides and a bottom, and you put glass in the opening how you going to get your fish in there? Not being a smart a** just asking.

you see the side without drylok on it? cutting a 22x16 hole and painting it,then setting the glass

Didnt cut it out yet since i could find my circular saw lol. ( i am very impatient)
