Plywood Tank Questions (glass)

I am planning on starting a plywood aquarium build and have found a big sheet of glass for sale
3 ft 6 in. x 71 1/2" thick

can 1/2" glass be cut to the size you want, I would want to turn this into 24" X 70" and am not sure if this can be cut.

As long as it's not tempered it can be cut. Tempered glass should have a stamp in the corner stating that it's tempered. SHOULD being the important word here

On tempered glass the 4 corners are supposed to be etched.

You can also check for dimpling on the glass (slight imperfections.) Also, I've heard you can see black lines in tempered glass if you look at it while using a polarized filter.
