I have been reading about plywood tanks for a while now but the reason I never go through with them is due to the lack of viewing angles. Where glass tanks can be viewed from all sides, your average plywood tank can only be view from front on.
Can I put two viewing windows on a ply tank, one on the front and one on the side or will this weaken the tank? Also how hard is it to move a plywood tank compared with a glass aquarium, is it easy to remove the glass and put it back in later?
If it is possible then I will read more on plywood tanks and get costing on both glass and plywood to see if it is worth doing. I would much rather a glass tank but is the plywood tank cost $1-$2k less then I would go for it.

Thanks, Nova

Of course you can do this, not a problem. So long as you take precautions and build a sturdy frame, it will work. Check out a post I did not too long ago, you are using a design similar as mine: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78752

As for moving the tank, whether it's plywood or glass makes no difference. It might actually be easier to move in plywood as it would probably weigh less than all glass, depending on the size et all... I wouldn't recommend removing the glass panels, for the sake of integrity, but nothing stops you from doing it. What would you do with a cracked glass...remove it and replace it ;)

Plywood are cheaper, but more work. It's up to you to decide what you want, other than that they are the same in my opinion.
