How long has everyone’s plywood tanks been lasting. I am sure it depends on the builder, method, and materials. I am just looking for a ballpark idea.

I've seen plywood tanks last for years, a lot of years. Assuming they're built properly there's no reason they can't last at least as long as a glass tank. IMO they can last longer because you never have to service the seals because there aren't any. Well, except for around the glass, but that one should be fine, you generally use a lot of silicone for that.

I know a guy who built a few plywood tanks and he's had them now for almost 15 years. the wood is starting to peal away on the outside of the tank from all the humidity, but it's still holding water. now he is in the process of building a new one which is bigger than ever 10 x 3 x 3. and once he gets that one build the really bad one is garbage, and then he's going to build another to replace the other 2 that are smaller in size. so they do last a long time.

orrrrr you could make a plywood/pond tank. :)

Only get a top view however, so a glass viewing panel would be better. :)

just a 2 part epoxy, that he was picking up at a hardware store. he had an old friend that would special order it for him. but i found some cheaper then what he paid, and it will work. he was paying 60 bucks a gallon, and you have to buy 2 gallons, 1 epoxy, and the catalists. and his was a 1 to 1 ratio. the stuff I can get is 60 bucks a gallon, and its 3 to 1 ratio. so it I guess will work out to the same amount of money, if I need 2 gallons..
