Can plywood tanks be drilled for drains and returns? Also GARF say to use weldwood resocinol glue by DAP, is this the best or can liquid nails be used instead?

Yes they can. I did. I used construction adhesive. I've heard of people using liquid nails, but I can not say from personal experience.

The glue can be toxic. The water should never get to the glue. If the water gets to the glue, your already screwed.

exactly!

whatever you do, make sure its sealed really well. I had a tiny crack form in the epoxy of mine, and the tank was ruined.

nonails is good glue for plywood tanks ihave built alot plywood myself one tank my friend has that built 18 years ago

I've used gorilla glue. Its fantastic and super strong.

Thanks Jawbone,

I talked with Gorilla glue and they say that their product will adhere to acrylic if it is scuffed up first. They also say that it is completely waterproof when imersed. I was thinking of glueing my acrylic window into a plywood tank and then sealing it with silicone. Do you think this idea will work?
