has anybody had any success with building a large plywood tank? I'm looking into building one with a large footprint (6ftx3ft) to keep a pair of stingrays and an arowana.

Well....a six foot tank may be a little small....just my opinion....
look in the DIY forum....lots of people have been very successful building plywood tanks.
