Im new to this whole cichla thing so plz id this guy, he might to small though, he has some yellow on his tail if it helps.

At this size, it can almost be anything. Wait until he reaches 3"-4"+.

Woofy, from the pic it is narrowed down to mono, Ocellaris, Orino, Kelberi, or FL hybrid. given your location, im siding with FL hybrid. where did you get it?

was bought at a local store, laz you may have been to it, beverly's pet center. Its the only place locally i have ever seen peacock bass for sale.

Hopefully it will get bigger for proper id soon hes eating really well i refused to give him live food since hes been here and hes been eating bloodworms like a champ. im gonnatry different things soon, he has a nice fat belly right now. Im assuming though it is a fl hybrid...just a hunch

You know, Ive never been to Beverly's...lol. I was at a Local wholesaler though this week and he had a couple tanks stocked with a few hundred 2-3" cichla. When asked origin, he bought them from a local who raises local caught PB's....my hunch is they came from Cichlidpharmer since I know he sometimes has and sells to the wholesaler. I am aware that most of the LFS down here buy atleast in part their stock from this particular wholesaler. He also had a tank full of Cichla Ocellaris from Guyana...I 'may' have gotten a few...lol.
