Plz need help on deciding what pump i need

I have 180 gal tank with the aqueon model 4 sump (30gal) . someone told me to get the laguna 2000. But for only a little more I could get the Laguna 2400 and I wasn't sure if that would be to strong .

I'd say go for it. it isn't hard to disperse the flow if the output is too high. splitting the output into multiple nozzles, a spraybar, a larger tubing output...

Yup I'd go with the 2400... bigger is better since you can always "throttle" it down like stated above.

What are you using to drain water into the sump? Ie overflow box, bulkhead size, etc. You dont want a pump that will be stronger than your drain. Find out what your drain is rated for and go from there.
