I'm an Army brat. Not from anywhere. Moved to much.
I have been married for almost 19yrs and have 4 kids. My boys are 16 and 10. My girls are 14 and 12.
I'm a mechanic for Boeing at the 737 Delivery Center in Seattle. I have also worked general , airline, and military aviation.
I have been keeping fish for about 18yrs. I started with two red ear sliders from Chinatown NYC summer excursion. Kept them in a 10g because they were smaller than silver dollar coins. I began researching planted aquariums and rehomed the turtles to someone with a pond.
My first planted tank was a 50b with 3in of soil and 3in of filter sand. Full forest of Amazon swords growing like crazy but infested with bb aglie.
Moved to NYC in 2005 and started full time with NY Aquarium Service managing accounts in NJ and Long Is. Majority of our customers had saltwater tanks. I did have a well established Mbuna tank in NJ that was my favorite. I was able to add enough lace rock to build a wall the full length and height and attach several variety of Anubius. I maintained my 50g planted, 20g hex planted and a 30g reef for my wife.
2007 moved out to the PNW. I now live south of Seattle. Planted tanks are still my preference. Even my L. Tang aquariums get plants.
I have always kept placid fish. Discus among my favorite.
Currently have 10 aquariums running. Looking forward to getting my 220g up and running.
