I need some advice/help. I was looking closely at my fish when I noticed little white specs all over my back glass. I thought they were the tube worms, but I looked closer and I could see them moving. Im assuming they are tiny pods, about the size of a grain of sand. I have bigger pods that come out at night, maybe about a dozen ive seen, but there seems to be hundreds of little creatures on the back of my glass. Any advice? They are definitely tiny and they are moving for sure. Could it be from the growing of chaeto in my sump, maybe some pods colonized the chaeto and some got through my return pump? Any information is appreciated. Im ok with a few pods, but i dont want hundreds of them. (if thats what they are)

Well its entirely possible that they are pods which wont harm your system but I guess you find them unsightly? My suggestion would be to keep algea to a minimum as much as possible to keep their food source low. If your chaeto is the problem which is possible I have read that a freash water bath will kill most of the pods in the macro though you would have to do this regualarily as the ones in the tank will migrate back to the sump. Now you will have to check me on this haha, I'm not 100% on how it will effect your cheato, but if its short enough, like 5-10 min I would think it wouldn't be a problem, but I'm not sure how long is required to kill the pods.

It was like an overnight thing, unless I just noticed it today. Algae was at a minimum, I have a slight diatom bloom on a spot behind the rocks on the sand , but nothing major. The tank is clean, levels good. It is just weird how I go from having none to having hundreds. None of my fish eat them lol. Idk what else to do besides trying the freshwater bath on the chaeto. It couldnt be anything else, could it? It doesnt affect water clarity or anything. They are too small for me to take a picture of.
