Reading on these forums lately makes me realize there is a huge following for Bichirs. So i am interested in getting one for my 125Gallon. When I went to do some research i found there are quite a few different kinds! I was hoping some Bichir veterans could point me in the right direction. I am looking for one that is smaller suze, hopfully nothing that will max out over 18inch. That really is my only concern. Obviously I would like the nicest looking one, and one that is hardy. I am not trying to be lazy and get you to find the info for me - believe me i will do tons of research on these guys before i get one, just was hoping to narrow the list before I start. Which Bichirs do you like and how big they get.

THANKS EVERYONE:grinno:

The senegal, delhezi, weeksii, polli, palmas, and the retropinnis would be all be fine in a 125 gallon. Note not all of them but some.

I highly recommend Delhezi, my favorite.

i highly recommend a delhezi or a polli.... or both!!!

thanks for the list everyone, seems like every single one of you said delhezi, so I think that will be where I start. And Blondie - wow, more info then i know what to do with, I will be looking at that quite a bit.

I dont think u will stop at one after u get one of these beautiful creatures. I would recommend orante and endi, nice colouration and intresting pattern ! However tey may get quite big though

thanks, but I am trying to stay small(er)

Think i am going with a delhezi, best looking out of the smaller ones IMO. Anything i should know about this one compared to other bichirs?

also how important is gravel to a bichir? I was thinking about going bare bottom...
