Hey peoples! I'm seriously thinking about buying a well performing zoom digital cam but I can't make up my mind.

My choices so far:

Nikon Coolpix P90

Canon Powershot G10

Canon Powershot S5 IS

Panasonic Lumix FZ28

If anyone has any previous experiences or suggestions, my price range is < $450, and the features i'm looking for are > 8 mp, > 10 optical zoom, and a respectful standard video size or hd would be better.

I will be using this digital point and shoot along with d40x or d80, so don't flame me too much dslr fans. Most of the shots will be of landscape/nature/arch- and I do appreciate the macro/micro capabilities.

Thanks in advance for any feedback. :D

Sigma DP1 is rated among the best of all point and shoot cameras.

The sensor is about twice the size of regular cameras, putting it on par with DSLR quality.

The company is announcing the SP2, but it's not yet released.

Lumix LX-3 is also one of the best.

Thank you for the quick responses.

While I'm drooling over the DP1, its well over my price range for the p&s- I prefer that money to go into a dslr and/or lenses.

As of the moment I am between the Panasonic Lumix DMX FZ28 and the Canon Powershot SX10 IS. My reason for not choosing the g10, is simply a money factor. With the previous two cameras, I have found better deals- from the camera itself to the packages available (J&R, Adorama).

I am waiting for some EBAY G10s(new) to get closer to end auction and see how well they sell on the website. If I see them at the right price- I will certainly grab the g10.

Thanks again for the feedback. Any other suggestions and previous experiences with digital cams would be very helpful.
