ok so today is cleaning day for my fish tanks, but i have a few spots of poison ivy on my hands from doing some yard work the other day. will it hurt the fish having my hands in the water? i don't have a clue as to if it could get into the water and have any effects on the fish or not so i thought i better ask if anyone else knew. please let me kno ur thoughts

It should b ok but if you are paranoid you can do a 30% WC or run carbon to suck out the impurities.

if it floats on the surface, then it would go down my overflow box, and all over my bioballs in the wet/dry then back to the tank. i kno what it does to ppl, just don't kno if it would harm the fish any. i'm thinkin it wouldn't, but don't really kno for sure

Other than the oil affecting the water chemistry it's fine. The toxins from poison ivy only affect one species... man. Deer actually eat largely poison ivy in some places.

your supposed to treat it? every year since i was a kid i have gotten it aleast once, usually a couple times so by now it doesn't bother me any so don't treat it at all. i cleaned the tanks and all fish seem to be just fine so all is good.
