Police drug dog sniffing out amonia test kit?!?!?!

Wow! I would have nothing to hide either. I still wouldnt let them in my front door with out a warrant. I was working in my shop and was being loud late at night and the cops just walked right in....I pitched a fit made them get out immediately. They didnt knock or nothing. Funny part is they had to walk through my enclosed porch into my yard to get to my shop door. I filed a complaint but never heard anything about it. I also had an animal control officer come into my yard and was looking in my windows! WTH? Filed a complaint on that too. She wasnt aware I was watchng her

The great thing about animal control here is that they are not part of the police department and are technically civilians and can not legally enter a property without the owners permission or a police escort with probable cause. Therefor when they walked in my front door (it was open cuz it was a nice day) at my old house they had a heck of a nasty suprise when i informed him he was trespassing and he tried to go past me to go farther into my home...i didnt expect him to literally pee himself, but there he was laying on the ground like a scared lil boy with wet pants when the police got there and contrary to their liking they were bound by law to remove him from the property for trespassing. what the police didnt know is that i wasnt about to let the animal control see all the 3' monitor i was keeping that they were there to "investigate" lol

As for filing complaints with the PD here...not a good idea, bad things have been known to happen when you do that. They sent in a guy with a hidden camera to file a complaint here in independence and he got a heck of a beatdown and i have heard many similar stories both before and since that. So my best bet here is to make sure that they just simply cant get me for anything and make sure i always have a means of protecting myself because it takes them about 20-40 mins to respond to a call depending on where in town you are.
Remember when seconds count the police are only minutes away. and
When 911 fails, try .357 :D

I would file a compliant and have them refinished and remove the scratches on my stand. The dog did scratch it up. It pisses you off when they show no respect to your property. When it comes to the law, you have to take the 5th and ask for a search warrant. Ask Barry Bonds, he wished he did. The only thing they could convict him on was for opening his mouth.

Probably something in the ammonia test chemical that may be used in the manufacture of illegal drugs. I doubt the dog smelled it through the stand and through the door though.
I would avoid filing a complaint. It will never go anywhere lol.

Lol they do go somewhere here. They land you a beat down in the lobby of the station lol.
And the kit was aparently what he smelled cuz he went to the stand, then they strung everything out, and the dog picked out the test kit out of everything else. I can say for a fact that there has been no type of illegal substance in my place since i moved in, so im thinking it had to have been that, and i did just test my water last night, so it is possible he smelled the kit i guess. Or it coulda been just the typical independence crookedness lol.

ammonia is sometimes used to cover up the smell of drugs people think that the ammonia will cause a drug dog to not find something due to its nose being knocked out of wack from the ammonia. So if when thr dig finds drugs and smells ammonia then when it smelled it he thought he found something else. Imo

ya im kinda figurin the same thing you all said. I didnt however know about using amonia to cover a stash from a dog lol
