hello i am about to buy a 300gal acrlic aquarium and i was wondering the best way to polish it would a little hand buffer work it looks a little hazy i was gonna use my buffer on slow speed and some polishing compond (fine) was just wondering if anyone ever tried it

dose your tank have small little scratch mark . If it dose have these mark you will need to start with for example 1000 grid sand paper and work your way down to say 100 grid
but if you have never done this before i would recommend a professional because you can really mess up your tank .

There are kits you can buy at Fish Stores that are for polishing and removing scratches from acryic. Never tried them but heard that it's a lot of work. Good luck, The Doctor

100 grit would be like sanding with a chainsaw lol.

No you got that backwards. the lower the grit the rougher it is. You can cut the skin off your hand with 100 grit

Start rough and go fine
400 to 2000 grit should be good. If you are real deep in scratches like someone took a rake to your aquarium then use 220 grit and go up from there

100 grit would mess up your tank real quick.

My scratch kit starts at 1500 grit and goes down to 8000 grit.
