Back in the day I used diatom filters to polish my aquariums. I don't see them advertised anywhere anymore. Whats a good recommendation to use? Should I go UV ? Thanks

filter socks works great

the magnum 350 are a great polisher if set up right

Agreed.

OP...if you are sufficiently filtered and you maintain your water changes, there really shouldn't be a need to polish. In the beginning, it seemed like the water was cloudy in my tanks more often than it was clear. But once I learned and started vac'ing and changing water regularly, I haven't had any problems.

I do agree that if you do need to polish, the Magnum 350 with filter sock and micro filter works really well. But, its going to cost you about $6 to clear your water up. The micro filter will plug up fairly quickly (overnight if the water is really bad)...and you have to buy a new one.

I see you have a lot of tanks so you obviously know what you're doing. But seriously, my water is crystal clear all the time now. In my bigger tank, I use a Rena XP4 and two AC110s. I clean and rinse out one of the filters about every second water change. Also, I am over-stocked in that tank. Water changes are the key to clean water :)

Good luck...

If you google vortex innerspace diatom filters you will find a link to the manufacturer and you can purchase the diatom directly through them. Would have supplied the link but don't know how to on my blackberry.
