Howdy,

I have been noticing that my tank is just a but cloudy with tiny floaties of what seems to be organic material - poop, detritus, just crap. The floaties must make it thru my filter :swear: No biggie from a fish-habitat point of view. As a SCUBA diver, I have seen worse in nature :)
However, I am to the point where I want it crystal clear. "Polished", so to speak.

Has anyone of you tried the AquaClear Qick Filter that runs on Hagen AquaClear powerheads?

Any other ways to "polish"?

Thanks,

HarleyK

I find that certain foods will cause that. My water looks crystal clear most of the time but food is the biggest cause of any water problems I've had.

Stick some polyester quilt batting in your filter.just make sure it dosen't have any fungicide in it.You can pick this up at any craft store.I put this in my AC filters and my water has never looked better.

I've used my magnum 350 for years just for this purpose. I have also used diatom filters. the 350 is the simplest to use

i use 2 internal filters in my tank to polish the water and give a little more filtration.
i have one in each back corner and they work well

I have used a Magnum 350 Cannister filter to polish my tank water before.. and it worked great!! I have also heared of great results from using a diatom filter.

I have a 180 gallon and wet/dry on it. I use a Diatom XL and run it in the sump to polish the water. About 15 mins after feeding 3 Oscars the water is good to go . ....Kelly
