Hi I enjoy the low maintenance I have to do for my over filtered tank, and being able to see the cleanliness of the bottom, as any waste is being taken care by my filtration. But I was wondering if I were switch to 3m colorquartz how much of a difference will it be? Will the poop be light enough to go into the filter ? Will the sand mess up the fx5 ? tank is 90g with emperor 400 and fx5.

Bare bottom all the way...............Less mess, more water volume..........

have you thought about tile ? stays as clean as bare bottom but imo looks alot better.

Unless you have rays or geos, bare bottom

Sand is also pretty easy to keep clean, the 3m should be heavy enough to stay out of the filter and the fish waste will not get under the sand.

Try not to get too deep of a bed going it can cause gas pockets
