Poll Filtation effectiveness

I have been running a 10 gallon sump on my 40 gallon planted tank, with a trick filter for about 3 months now.

Today I removed the trickle filter and now just have a sump and a small sponge filter in the tank. I removed this because the plants are very healthy now and have become well established.

Poll will the tank hold? with the plants as the filter and the sponge.

What do you have in the 40 fish wise? (The 40 is not in your sig)

Its actully the 20 20's plumbed together. minus 1 gourami as he committed suicide as did the oddessa barb.

As long as you have a large bio chamber in your sump and the turn over rate is high enough say 4-6x then yes it should be fine.

its around 550- 700 GPH.
